Early-stage startup pioneering in gut health
Tiny Health is an early-stage startup experiencing rapid growth, with a significant emphasis on research and scientific aspects. The small team tackles a wide range of challenges, requiring the responsible delegation of certain design tasks. Red Bourbon hired me to undertake these assignments.
the challenge
01
Translate scientific information into a format that is easy to understand for parents who are typically concerned about their children.
02
Design marketing websites that highlight the potential benefits of conducting a gut test at home.
03
Adapt quickly to different needs and pivot as necessary.
Making complex information understandable
I thrive on the challenge of transforming large volumes of complex data into comprehensible, digestible information. In these instances, I use my analysis tools to distill essential information users need to achieve their goals. I used this skill to redesign two key areas of the app: delivering microbiome results, and the action plan for patients.

Constantly reflecting company progress
I'm proud of the marketing websites we've created, particularly the B2B site. While these sites showcase my compositional, typographic, and visual design skills, I've also discovered that web design web design isn’t my strongest area, but I’m finding opportunities to grow. I believe there's as much value in discovering what we don't enjoy as what we do, which is why I've included this in the case study.
An uncommon touchpoint in digital design
In this project, I revisited designing for print, a process I hadn't engaged in since college and one that I particularly enjoy. Part of the app's user experience often required printing out results to show to a practitioner. This need prompted the development of this project, which brought its own unique challenges in information design.

Experimenting with wearing many hats
I'm deeply grateful for the various roles I've undertaken at Tiny Health. Working in such a dynamic, fast-paced environment has taught me many lessons, especially about the necessary trade-offs inherent in my position. Each project served as a learning curve, letting me explore different aspects of design. This experience reignited my passion to work as an in-house designer, focusing on long-term development alongside a dedicated team. I look forward to carrying these experiences with me in my future endeavors.
